Presentation

The Quantitative Techniques for Economics and Business Administration Research Group (SEJ-534) started in 2013 under the direction of Professor Agustín Hernández Bastida who laid the foundations of the group. Initially the main lines of research were data analysis and, in particular, the analysis of bounded distribution models, their application in the financial and actuarial field, the modeling of aggregate loss for operational risk and the calculation of premiums in actuarial statistics.
Subsequently, under the direction of Professor Víctor Blanco Izquierdo (2017-2022), the group has incorporated new lines of research related to the localization of services and optimization applied to economic analysis.

Since August 2022, Professor Catalina García García has assumed the leadership of the group with the aim of improving and strengthening the existing synergies between the two main research lines of the group: the theory of distributions and optimization theory. These research lines are consolidated within the group as can be seen from the projects and publications developed.

Thus, the strategic convergence of both lines aims to take advantage of the existing synergies and advance in applications with a significant socioeconomic impact. We seek not only to explore new theoretical frontiers, but also to translate these advances into tangible solutions that contribute to economic and business progress. The intersection between these disciplines promises to open new perspectives to address contemporary challenges, and our group is committed to leading this initiative.

From these lines, we invite you to explore our work and discover how we are addressing key challenges in business and economics. We are open to the collaboration and participation of researchers, students and professionals interested in these fields.
